The design solution reversed the focus of the existing house so that it opened to the spectacular Southern views over Bondi instead of a wall to the swimming pool.

The primary living spaces were now on the South side, so the existing Northern-facing roof was punctured with a skylight shaft, which now bathes the South-facing dining room with Northern light.

The plan offers differing relationships to the view; the viewing box for standing on the edge, the external panorama from the balcony, and the framed views from the dining and kitchen.
