Greek at the beach:
The owner of Kazzi Beach Greek, Peter Papas, saw a hole in the Balmoral Beach food scene and saw the opportunity to offer what they coined “beach greek”. Kazzi Beach Greek is a contemporary fusion of the Aegean with the casual freshness of Balmoral Beach in Mosman, Sydney.
Outdoor patrons enjoy the marine landscape of Balmoral Beach while those indoors enjoy a more intimate experience within the cozy alcoves reminiscent of many a Greek Isle. Lying at the base of the Aegean, Kazzi Beach Greek channels the Greek island of Kastellorizo (“Kazzi”) with its white sculptured walls. The encaustic paving tiles evoke the flaging stone laneways of the island, and the penny rounds reference pebble mosaics on Kastellorizo and throught the Dodecanese archipelago.
The fit out is simple and fresh yet familiar, like the island based menu. In Peter’s words; “people literally feel like they’ve had their little getaway and a true taste of Greece in all things. That means they have enjoyed a Greek environment and atmosphere for the time that they’re at Kazzi.”
