The design solution reversed the focus of the existing house so that it opened to the spectacular Southern views over Bondi instead of the wall to the swimming pool.
As the primary living spaces were moved to the South side of the house to enjoy the spectacular view, the existing Northern-facing roof was punctured with a skylight shaft, which now bathes the South-facing dining room with Northern light.
The plan offers differing relationships to the view; the viewing box for standing on the edge, the external panorama from the balcony, and the framed views from the dining and kitchen.
